Today in Social Media and Collaborative Writing, we finished watching the documentary, Terms and Conditions, which we started watching last Thursday. We ended up no having class on Tuesday so it’s a good thing I didn't go to school that day. The movie illustrated how advertisement and companies are stealing our information from many social media platforms. They access this information from Terms and Conditions. Terms and conditions are so long and full of jargon people don’t read them (I don’t read them). The movie also said every email, phone call, and text exchange we’ve ever had has been recorded by the government. The documentary showed people who have been wrongly arrested for information they’ve shared, either through social media or emails, being misconstrued as a threat. The documentary made me think what will the world be like when technology will be inside us. I think it will be become an extension of ourselves. Soon there be camera contacts. I can't believe that!

Blog Post #10- The Shorty Awards
Today I learned there is actually an award show for recognizing achievements in social media! The award show is called the Shorty Awards, also known as the Shortys. The first ceremony was in 2008. Winners are members from Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, Instagram, Vine, amongst other social media sites.
